Success Stories
Real people, real change. Short films that follow farmers, women and families across Balochistan and Sindh as development programmes reshape their livelihoods.
Failed migration.
Filmed for Voice of America's 52 Documentary series, The Failed Migration follows Javid Karezi, a sixth-generation Afghan singer silenced when the Taliban banned music in August 2021. Forced out of Kabul, he moved his family to Quetta in search of a stage and a future.
Eight months in Quetta brought language barriers and few chances to perform. Unable to support his family, Javid returned to Kabul and a life without music. An intimate portrait of what displacement takes from an artist.
